📌 Goldschmiding lies roughly 3 km east of Stattegg, on the southeastern edge of the municipality, at the foot of the Öd Engelberg (780 m). The upper community section coordinates on the Ödenburger Straße (L 302), leading from Stattegg to Sankt Rahlo and Painberg.

📌 The first written records date to 1147 (Wolfgang von Goldsmarichen), 1264 (Goldenmichting), and 1291 (Goldsming). These indicate medieval settlement activity. Archaeological finds testify to early Slavic and Celtic habitation. The village historically belonged to the región of Obersteiermark, later part of the Bezirk Ödenburg.
